The last few weeks...

On Oct. 28- this guy and I celebrated '34' years of marriage. Earth life if just too short to get to love/live with your husband, so we're grateful for eternity.

Early November, I traveled to CA to help celebrate w/ Erinn the coming of grand baby #5. He/she will make their arrival at Christmas. I guess you know where we'll be during the holiday...and beyond!

We dusted off the bikes and enjoyed a 10 mile 'stroll' along the Provo River Trail

Steve still has his biking skills...he is way more daring and takes corners like he's a kid!

Last Sat. Steve & I decided to make peace with the impending winter (my wording-he loves the cold...I do not) We took a drive up the Alpine Loop: cold, snowy, and beautiful.

This smile brightens up a room, and she's fun to laugh with.

Gracey is our eldest grandchild, and she's had all the privledges of being the first. She's the one who had her aunts/uncles to herself. Her Grammy and Papa May have worshiped her every milestone.

She an artistic and athletic little girl. She can run and run, and run...just like her Mommy. Gracey is senstitive and thoughtful, and you can have a deep conversations with her-if you take the time...just-the-two-of-you.

She's a good walking buddy, and will notice the smallest bug.

Gracey loves (just to name a few):

Her Mom & Dad, going to the beach, ice cream at Avila Barn, playing with Skye, drawing & painting, making green smoothies with her Dad, cottage cheese & applesauce,& snuggling on the couch watching her favorite movie...and we love everything about her!

Is this not the sweetest face? A true look of innocence.

I enjoy his sense of fun and adventure.
I think it's cute the way he spends most of his time 'undressed'
He can pretend play like no other. He's a very cute tiger and a pretty convincing dinosaur.
He gives the best hugs. He'll take your face in his hands when he's talking or he's going to kiss you-it's precious.
He is social and likes just about anyone.
You never, and I mean never lose sight of him.
He's athletic, and can ride a scooter faster that any other two year old...I'm sure of it!
He also...
--has been known to flood an entire bathroom. Just let me say that you don't have toliet paper laying around for Becks to find
--is fast...and an experienced escape artist
--has no sense of fear
--is so cute, that whatever he does...we just laugh

We love this boy, and his wild ways.
He's infamous...let me quote a few that know him.

Grammy: "Gracey let's go find your brother, he terrifies me"
Gracey: "He terrifies me too!"

Linny: "Beckham doesn't bite any more, does he."

Rob: "People use to think I was making this stuff up about him, but now they're the ones telling the stories."

Felicity: "Let's go find your brother"
Gracey: "Why can't he just stay in the house?"
Felicity: "That's a good question..."

...and we wouldn't change a thing about him!

Berlin Nichole Johnson - Grandbaby #3...yep, she's cute.

So this isn't a fluke...I really am going to keep the blog updated. Nothing like the grandbabies to motivate the Grammy. Notice I didn't say Papa...Steve asked me the other day if we had a blog! Who can blame him-I had almost forgot myself!

This is our Linny-she's funny, sweet, thoughtful and loves chocolate.

Let me illustrate:

I keep chocolate in my spa room for clients justforyoumobilespa.blogspot.com. Linny knows this and when she comes over-sometime before she leaves she will tell me "I'm going upstairs" That's code for: I'm going to get some chocolate. I generally have Dove-dark & milk (just in case you wondered). So on this day she goes up to the room-and there was Hershey only...she asks me what the wrapper says...she's obviously suspicious. She proceeds to eat about half, and then tells me she wants the ones in the blue wrapper (Dove). So I will add smart to the list of what Linny is.

Sweet, thoughtful, smart...and loves chocolate are just a few ways to describe this delightful little girl.

Little piece of heaven

My weeks are happier because my children keep
me up to date on some of of their day-to-day
lives-- via their own blogs.
Let me say that my family probably gave up any hope of me keeping this blog going. I do realize it's been over 2 years since my last post (audible gasp), but here I am resurrecting it...and with this face!
Eliot has just spent the last 9 days with us and will be going home tomorrow :(
One of my favorite things about this little 'determinator' are those soft, soul-full brown eyes of his. Behind them is one smart cookie!
This little man is madly in love with his Mom (who can blame him?), laughs the deepest while playing with his Dad (how many Dad's can go down a children's slide with such skill?), is gentle with animals, and gives the sweetest kisses...and so much more. Thank you Andrew & Erinn for bringing this little piece of heaven to us.

1) We have a new grandson Beckham Robert May 2) Steve herniated a disc in his back and had back surgery #2 hasn't been that much fun, but Steve is recovering wonderfully--and we feel very blessed. But #1 was the highlight! Jeri spent about 4 weeks total in CA (March/April) and was able to spend a lot of time with Gracey and was there to welcome Beckham.

Thoughts on turning '52'

I admit that I like my birthday. It's touching to be remembered, and we never grow out of needing that! I truly enjoyed the phone calls, emails, texts, cards,treats dropped off, gifts, and the occasional "I didn't know it was your birthday...Happy Birthday!"

And honestly, isn't '52' just a number? I respectfully know that it represent years of living, and I'm enjoying some of the fruits of my life lived thus far...

After 31 yrs. of marriage, Steve & I enjoy a certain type of peace together. I know that there is no one I'd rather spend the eternites with. I am in awe of my adult children-their goodness and love for each other is inspiring. I'm crazy in love with my grandchildren. The other day someone asked me how many I had (as my constant speaking of them gives the impression that I have many!) In theory, I have trillions-and I adore them all.

It's great that we can just keep on learning, changing, evolving...and hopefully always appreciating this life that God has given each of us.

Ok, so I'm one of those people who loves a white Christmas--for the effect--
and then want it comfortably warm. I start worrying about cold weather in(I'm embarrased to write this) August! I know it's crazy.

Its been an amazing past few weeks. We've welcomed Berlin...Erinn, Felicity & Gracey came for a visit. Being RS pres. has filled my life with opportunites to get to know and serve others. There is comfort in this routine. A few weeks ago a sister (Jody) in ward passed away--it was sudden and so unexpected...she was young and has a 12yo son (Lucas). Those difficult times seems to bring out the best in people. So many offered to serve this family--I feel honored to know such good people. A friend of mine said, "It's too bad Jody didn't know how much she was loved in the ward." I have thought about that often these last few weeks. We all have family, friends and neighbors. I hope I will always be mindful in the ways I show them that I love and care for them...that they matter to me. I'm thankful for my family-I love them-I respect them-I pray for them.

We served luncheon for the family...here is the recipe we used. I think our Whitney will like this. We served it with loaded mashed potatoes.
So easy-and everyone really like it.

4 chicken breast- season w/ salt& pepper and garlic powder (dried ranch mix would be good too)
1 can cr. of chix soup mixed w/ 1/2c milk (pour over chicken)
Sprinkle 1-2C of seasoned (we used herbed) stuffing mix
Pour 1/2 cube of melted butter over stuffing.
Bake 350 about 1 hr.

Jeanine & Barrett have added to our joy by...giving us another grandbaby! This little angel is tiny, but perfect. 5 lb. 8 oz. 18" long. We love the dimple in her right cheek and her cute little "May" chin! Pictures to follow-

Our long awaited Christmas holiday--came and went far too quickly, but we're so grateful we were all able to be together. We laughed, cried, played in the snow, and gave lots of kisses to Gracey.

I've been waiting to blog, hoping I'd get it together and take some pics.Those who know me, may know that is not my strong point! However, life is good, and a small gratitude list is always appropriate:
* Steve & I enjoy good health and the love of our children
* We love,adore,and respect our children-they are amazing people
* Our children love each other...
* We live in a neighborhood of great people
* Steve has a job-that's satisfying- and it enables us to spend more time together
* We have "2" grandbabies on the way :)
* We appreciate the opportunites given us to serve our church family
* And...All my children are coming home for Christmas!

Steve & I spent the last week enjoying the Mexician Rivera. It was a combination celebration of our 31st wedding annivesay/graduation for massage therapy school--most important a much needed vacation! We have a great life...

Ok, so the Grandma gave in and let Gracey play with the mascara! She's washable--and looking a little worried. Erinn and I just laughed!

Being a Grandma is just as wonderful as I thought it would be. I will always treasure these last few days with Gracey...just a few of my favorite moments.

* Gracey letting me snuggle with her before bedtime (I get teary-eyed just thinking of it!)

* "Up-ee" (Means pick me up or lift me up, so I can get what I want)

* Gracey takes my finger to point to the pictures in her books

*Asking Gracey if her Grandma loves her--and watching her get big-eyed and shaking her head yes...ah, so sweet

The weekend has been filled with family and enjoying general conference. Erinn and Andrew came in last week, and will be leaving this evening. We'd be incredibly sad, but we'll see her again this month. Our true joys revolve around the times we are able to be together as a family.
